    DANBURY, CT - The Western Connecticut State University field hockey program invites you to visit the university on Sunday, April 30 for its annual Open House. Take the guided tours from 10 am to 12:30 pm then head over to the Westside Athletic Complex and take in Coach Dani McDonnell's 7-on-7 Tournament beginning at 1 pm.

    CHANDLER, AZ – The Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team Awards were announced on Thursday with 124 squads earning recognition. The Western Connecticut State University team, under the guidance of Dani McDonnell, was named to the 2016-17.

WestConn's will be held on Thursday, March 2 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Midtown Campus Student Center.

Rookies Melissa Krim (South Easton, MA) and Allie Noteware (New Milford, CT) each notched their first career goals in the winning effort for the Colonials.

Senior Nicole Burgess (Mexico, ME) added two goals, Freshman Kate McPherson (Conway, NH), Junior Kaitlin Wilder (Framingham, MA), Senior Jordan Ray (Standish, ME), and Senior Kendal Lariviere each scored a goal to lead the Panthers in a 6-0 win at New Hampton School.

With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while the Warriors improved to 4-3 and 3-1.

With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in league play, while the Owls improved to 5-2 and 2-0. Junior Greta McConnell (Norwalk, CT) notched the lone Western goal on a penalty stroke as time expired, good for her third tally of the season.

Western Connecticut is now 2-1 and 1-0 in the Little East while Salem State slips to 0-2 and 0-1 in conference.
