WestConn JV Softball Splits Doubleheader With Morris Community College

DANBURY, CT - Western's J.V softball team today split a doubleheader with Morris Community College winning game one, 2-0 before falling in the nightcap, 11-1.  

Junior pitcher Jaclyn Smith pitched six innings allowing just two hits, a pair of walks and six strike outs.

Sophomore reliever Kamryn Geysen came on in the seventh to earn the save.  She allowed the first three runners to get on base and retired the next three. Geysen allowed no hits in the combined shut out. 

Freshman catcher Annie Rosa went 2-for-2 with an RBI and junior icole Bonanni was 2-for-3 at the plate.   

In the second game, Kayla Nowak started on the mound and pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on just four hits with five walks.

Jenna Houlahan hurles two-thirds of an inning.  

Morris's freshman Nicole Carter pitched a one hitter and allowed just one run in the win.  

Rosa was 1-for-2 in the game two with a double and an RBI.  She finished up going 3-for-4 in the on the day.    

The Colonials' sub-varsity team is 1-1 on the year.
