Sara Tenke, Kayla Nowak and Tori Dugan Named To LEC Softball All-Conference Team

PAWTUCKET, RI - Western Connecticut State University's Sara Tenke (Glen Cove, NY), Kayla Nowak (Northford, CT) and Tori Dugan (Norwalk, CT) have been selected to the 2018 Little East Conference Softball All-Conference Team, announced on Thursday.

Tenke and Nowak were named to the First Team while Dugan reaped Second-Team honors.  Tenke was selected as the league's highest rated first baseman while Nowak was one of three outfielders on the First Team.  Dugan was the second baseman honored on the Second Team.

In 35 games, Tenke batted .358 with eight doubles and one home run.  She had 10 runs batted in and scored 14 runs.  The sure-handed first baseman finished her second season with a .957 fielding percentage, committing just six errors in 138 fielding chances, some of those coming from the center circle as she made 20 pitching appearances this past season for the 17-24-1 Colonials.  She went 2-9 with a 3.80 earn-run average.

Nowak led WestConn with a .402 batting average.  She had 43 hits in 107 at bats and finished with a .794 slugging percentage.  Most of her showings were in center field for the Colonials this past spring.  She led the team with nine home runs and added nine double and three triples for 21 extra-base hits.

Dugan finished fourth on the club with a .328 batting average.  She scored a team-high 35 runs in her final campaign.
