Colonials Finish Fifth At DIII Connecticut Cup

MIDDLETOWN, CT - The Western Connecticut State University women's swim team finished in fifth place, with 78 points, at the Division III Connecticut Cup at Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon.

Connecticut College captured the event with 656 total points while Coast Guard placed second with 501 points.  Rounding out the field was Wesleyan (393) and Eastern Connecticut State University (271).

Albertine Rwabukamba (Redding, CT) collected 10 points on the afternoon with finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (13th), 200-yard breaststroke (12th) and 50-yard breaststroke (11th).

Annelise Alfieri (Southington, CT) recorded WestConn's highest finish with a 10th-place showing in the 50-yard breaststroke with a 38.03 time.

The Colonials return to action on Saturday, January 13 when they host Hunter College.  The starter's gun gets the meet underway at 11 am.
